Position: Center Coordinator
Organization: Alliance For Children
Biography
Alliance For Children, the Tarrant County Children's Advocacy Center program, provides self-contained, child-friendly centers where abused children and their families can go for evaluation, crisis intervention, evidence gathering, group counseling, and case management services. These services are available in three Alliance For Children centers, located in Arlington, Fort Worth, and Hurst.
Each center co-houses investigators from Child Protective Services, detectives from participating law enforcement agencies, and staff from the Tarrant County District Attorney's office. These professionals work together to investigate reports of serious, life-threatening physical abuse and sexual abuse of children. Children's statements are videotaped and on-site medical assessments are conducted by the C.A.R.E. Team at the Arlington center and at Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth. After child abuse is confirmed, Alliance For Children provides free case management services and on-site group counseling for sexually abused children and their protective parents.
