Coalition Partners

Coalition Partners play a very special leadership role in organizing Arlington's GYSD. A strong youth group and their adult leaders normally assume the leadership role with the support of their sponsoring organization (school, agency, etc.) and do the following 7 steps:

1. Gain permission from your school principal or the organization executive for your youth group to lead this effort.
2. The adult leader should complete and submit the Pledge Form below prior to February 22, 2010.
3. Prepare and Plan your Coalition:
   1. Recruit 5 or more related youth groups to participate in your coalition.
   2. Develop a special theme or project that provides purpose and/or direction for your Coalition.
   3. Recruit two youth leaders from your coalition to serve with you on the City's GYSD Steering Committee and attend two Saturday meetings on Feb 27 & Mar 27.
   4. Ensure each youth group registers on our website by Wed. Mar. 22nd. (Click here)
   5. Submit your Coalition Plan by March 22nd (click here).
4. Keep all youth groups in your coalition informed on planning for GYSD activities.
5. Register your coalition with Youth Service America by Wed. March 30. (Click here.)
6. Celebrate with your coalition at the City's "Thank You" Lunch & Awards Ceremony on GYSD.
7. Ensure all youth groups submit their Project Completion Report by May 7th. Please include your Coalition leadership information with your youth groups report.
