Ms. Derrelynn Perryman

Biography

Derrelynn Perryman, LCSW, has been the Victim Services Coordinator for the Arlington Police Department since 1994.  She is also adjunct faculty at The University of Texas at Arlington.  She is a licensed TCLEOSE instructor and regularly trains peace officers throughout the region.  She is the Mental Health Consultant to the police department CISM Team.  She was a therapist in private practice for 10 years in Fort Worth and developed a Batterer’s Intervention Program for court ordered offenders and a Life Skills curriculum for Federal parolees.  She graduated from UT Arlington with a Masters of Science in Social Work in 1992 and is an LCSW.  Her Master’s Thesis was titled “The Relationship Between Policy and Arrest Rates in Domestic Violence Incidents”.  Previously, she worked for Women’s Haven of Tarrant County and as a therapist for Charter Hospital.  She is a member of the North Central Texas Council of Government’s Criminal Justice Policy Development Committee, the Tarrant County Council on Family Violence, the Coalition for Crime Victim Services, the National Association of Social Workers,  is past president of the Texas Victim Services Association,  current Chair of the Tarrant County Community Criminal Justice Planning Committee, and is co-founder of LEVA (Law Enforcement Victim Assistance).
